10 Things I Learned From Another Week In the NFL

1. The Broncos season is over. And your fantasy season is over if you just so happened to pick up the Broncos D/ST this week. (Can't you just hear me cursing at the screen??)

2. The Cowboys Super Bowl dreams are dead. Not that they haven't been dead since after the Bears game....but they're dead as a doornail now.

3. The Seahawks are a legitimate contender. Purely because they are underestimated by just about everyone in this league.

4. Sports Illustrated might actually be right about the Steelers making it to the Super Bowl.

5. That being said, the NFL replay rules need to be reviewed again. Just ask the Dolphins.

6. The Giants have one of the best trios of young receivers I've ever seen. Imagine how good Hakeem Nicks, Mario Mannigham, and Steve Smith are going to be a couple of years from now. Heck, imagine how good they're going to be next week?

7. The Packers might have really given Brett Favre's confidence a blow. Apparently being revealed as a cheater couldn't do it. He'll have a week on the bench to think about it either way.

8. Jay Cutler is the dumbest QB in the league. Really Jay? You'd throw to DeAngelo Hall all over again? HE INTERCEPTED YOU 4 TIMES. Noob.

9. The Chargers are done for all intents and purposes this season.

10. Kenny Britt is a rising star so long as he contains his off-field issues.

10 Things I Learned From This Week in the NFL

1. If you have the Patriots D/ST on your fantasy roster, don't drop them. Apparently giving up 30 points to the BILLS is no indication about their performance for the next week. Freakin' Patrick Chung.

2. Speaking of Patrick Chung, there IS an Asian-American player in the NFL, apparently. My roommate and I were discussing this quandary when Chung's name popped up all over ESPN last night. Way to go man.

3. Taylor Mays has some serious skills. The way the 49ers are playing, why not put him at receiver?

4. Kyle Orton is a serious quarterback. Be smart (like me) and pick him up in your league for at least a backup option.

5. LT can apparently still run the ball. This is good news for the Jets. Just look at a Mark Sanchez highlight reel from this year. Hint: There are none.

6. Staying on the Jets, Braylon Edwards isn't going to miss much time. Hopefully. So just keep him and don't worry.

7. Antonio Gates has the chance to be the first tight end ever to be selected for MVP. I'm serious. This guy is still a hoss.

8. Darren McFadden? He can run? I mean, he CAN run. Well....don't buy into him just yet, but I say we keep an eye on DMac for the time being. Though we all know Felix Jones is the best Razorback out there. Maybe because he plays for the best team out there.

9. Bye weeks are good.

10. Josh Scobee is the best kicker of all time. At least, that's what ESPN is making it seem like. The number one play of the week? Really? I mean, it was the EIGHTH longest field goal in history. Last time I checked, 8th place wasn't very cool.

Gotta run. Derek Dooley needs some help with his math homework. (1, 2, 3....11? No wait there's 13 guys out there....dangit....)
