- I think the most worthy candidate right now is Brett Wallace. The young 1B is hitting .382/.450/.517 and making some nice digs on terrible throws by Astros infielders.
- Brett Myers has a shot, but he would have to start stringing together some zeroes if he wants serious consideration. He's a fan favorite with his long beard and nasty demeanor, but a steadily rising ERA and WHIP will not help his chances. This will probably result in lobbying by Myers to get the roof closed at the Juicebox.
- A dark horse candidate for the NL team might be Bud Norris. He's only given up 1 ER in his last 4 starts and struck out 11 Brewers in his last outing. Sporting a 3.03 ERA and an opponent's BA of .237, Norris has a shot to be the first Astros pitcher selected since Roy Oswalt in 2007.
- In the end, it might just be Michael Bourn again riding the pine for the NL. You gotta figure that he'll be leading the NL in stolen bases by then, and with his fantastic glove work in center, it's hard to leave him off the list.
